How we help

A trusted member from our accompaniment team can come with you to:

  • A virtual or in-person courthouse or mediation visit
  • Attend a rape kit procedure
  • Attend an abortion
  • To Toronto Police Services to give a statement

Who will accompany me?

Our accompaniment team are composed of staff, volunteers, and/or students who are trained specifically to do this work. While they are trained in crisis intervention and counselling skills, they are not your counsellor. This team is available for support throughout institutional processes and are there to help break the isolation survivors feel. They can help you decide what you want to do by answering your questions related to these processes.

Where can I receive accompaniment?

Survivors are provided with assistance and accompaniment to a variety of institutions, including intervention and consultations around issues relating to family law, criminal justice system, refugee/immigration, medical and other government related agencies.
