Assistance for low income Scarborough residents who live east of Midland Ave. Deals with tenant issues, social assistance, pensions, Employment Insurance (EI), and subsidized housing. May provide representation, summary advice in domestic violence cases.
Scarborough Hope Centre
Men and women 25 years +. Hostel with space for 60 individuals. Breakfast, lunch and dinner available to residents.
Scarborough Hospital Mobile Crisis
Health Crisis Response Program. Individuals 16 years + experiencing mental health crises in Scarborough/East York. 24 hour phone, peer support and mentoring.
Scarborough Women’s Centre
Women dealing with abuse, making plans to leave abuse, or recovering from abuse and violence. Info and referrals, counselling, mentoring, educational programs, women with disabilities, young women’s outreach.

Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence Care Centre (SA/DVCC) Scarborough Hospital
24hr emergency care for men, women and transgendered individuals 12 years + who have been sexually assaulted or experienced intimate partner violence. Crisis intervention, medical care (testing and treatment for STIs, Plan B, and HIV Post-exposure Prophylaxis), forensic care, risk assessment and appropriate safety planning, and referral to community resources.

Provides advice, brief services, public legal education, and/or legal representation. Deals with immigration, Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), Ontario Works (OW), Old Age Security (OAS), Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Criminal Injuries Compensation (basic advice), Employment Insurance (EI), Human Rights (advice only), Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) (advice only), employment law (advice), family law (basic advice), tenant’s rights (basic advice only, no representation), and domestic violence (advice).

Substance Abuse Assessment & Treatment Program Elizabeth Fry Society
Offers outpatient individual/group counselling, and referral to appropriate resources. The program targets, but is not restricted to, women in conflict with the law.
The Morgentaler Clinic
Procedure takes 5 to 10 minutes, I.V. sedation and local freezing given to keep patient relaxed and comfortable.

YWCA 1st Stop Woodlawn Shelter
Women who are 16 years +, homeless and fleeing violence. Individual and group support programs/counselling, help with finding affordable housing, job searching/returning to school, and ongoing support after leaving the shelter.
YWCA Breakthrough Program
Women 18 years + who have experienced any form of abuse or violence. Group runs in three 12 week cycles throughout the year.
